Spanish Kits, one of the most important HALAL companies

ZERO% line up

Emarat Al Youm, a newspaper in Dubai, published an article about the new strategy “Dubai – Capital of the Islamic economy” to attract foreign investment in Dubai (click here to read). The proposal was created by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, general director of DAFZA and incorporates three main directives and twenty strategic initiatives, that aim to bolster the economic growth in the Islamic world. The initiative, that will be implemented in the next five years, places DAFZA as the focal point of this economy, specially in the HALAL sector. This new strategy supports existing investors as well as companies that are looking to expand their business and invest in the Islamic economy.

The publication, along with other media that picked up the story, mentioned Spanish Kits as one the most important companies in the HALAL sector in Dubai.

Currently DAFZA is home to the most important HALAL companies, including Hershey’s, Abbot Laboratories, Natura Bisse y Spanish Kits.
- Emarat Al Youm

Spanish Kits was certified as a HALAL company in 2016 and it is the first one in Spain to obtain the HALAL certification. To reach out to the Arab market, Spanish Kits develops a series of initiatives, such as the creation of their own cosmetic brand ZERO%, in which the whole product range is produced according to the Islamic law. The brand ZERO% also displays two different collections, one in Spanish writing and the other in Arabic. Also, the opening of our subsidiary in Dubai helps us become closer to our Muslim customers.

Nowadays, there are a billion of Muslims in the world and the forecast is that they will reach the 2.2 billion by 2030. These are people that demand products that do not compromise their faith and therefore they become relevant in the international markets. Until now, the word HALAL has always been connected to the food industry, but it starts to extend to other industries: fashion, drugs, tourism and specially the cosmetic industry. In 2016, the industry was worth 50 billion euros and the expenses in cosmetics by the Islamic population are expected to grow to 65 billion euros by 2019, according to the report “The estate of global Islamic economy” from Thomson Reuters.

Furthermore, the HALAL certification is becoming more than just a religious term, and more and more people are demanding HALAL cosmetics, as they do not contain animal fat or alcohol. The HALAL trademark is becoming synonymous to comprehensive regulation, eco-friendly products and non-toxic ingredients.

The Stanpa Foundation appreciates the dedication and commitment of the volunteers of the program “Ponte Guapa, Te Sentirás Mejor” (“Make Yourself Beautiful, you’ll feel better”)

The Stanpa Foundation appreciates the dedication and commitment of the volunteers of the program “Ponte Guapa, Te Sentirás Mejor” (“Make Yourself Beautiful, you’ll feel better”)

Madrid, October 21, 2015. In honor of breast cancer awareness International day, The Stanpa Foundation organized a meeting at its headquarters in Madrid to thank the work of the beauty professional volunteers participating in workshops that teach women undergoing cancer treatment, makeup techniques, skincare and sun protection to enhance their appearance, helping them feel better and have a more positive attitude.

Pilar Cairó, director of “Ponte Guapa, Te Sentirás Mejor” program (“Make Yourself Beautiful, you’ll feel better”), acknowledged the contribution of time, enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity of these beauty experts, awarding them a diploma that emphasizes its great solidarity contribution. “The need of volunteers is a constant for the Stanpa Foundation. Your contribution makes each workshop conducted in public hospitals in which we are present, a very special experience for patients.”

During these sessions, more than 60 volunteers who collaborate altruistically, guided patients through the 12 essential steps for skin care, hair and makeup, helping them regain their self-esteem and feel beautiful. To do this, they receive specific training on approach to cancer patients and cosmetics principles for skincare and makeup of the patient during this period.

In addition, during the meeting with the group of volunteers, Spanish Kits Company, co-founders of the Stanpa Foundation and company responsible for developing and composing the beauty kit -in which inside the women participating in the workshops could find products donated by 30 perfume and cosmetics companies that were collaborating in this program, completely free of charge- shared their experience in the field of humanitarian aid, without leaving aside other sectors attended like Hygiene Comfort in Hospitals and Children’s Dental Education, in its 20 years of experience nationally and internationally.

Since its implementation in Spain, in 2012, the “Ponte Guapa, Te Sentirás Mejor” (“Make Yourself Beautiful, you’ll feel better”) is present in 22 public hospitals in Albacete, Alicante, Barcelona, Ciudad Real, Girona, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Tarragona, Valencia, Valladolid y Vitoria . It also has the collaboration of health professionals (doctors, nurses, psycho-oncologists and volunteers from AECC) plus 60 beauty professionals’ volunteers.

One of the goals of the Foundation Stanpa for next year is to reach more women, incorporating new public hospitals to expand the presence of the program throughout the Spanish geography; and to extend its network of volunteers as one of the cornerstones of the project.

End of the UNICEF Spain “Philippines Typhoon Emergency” campaign

End of the UNICEF Spain “Philippines Typhoon Emergency” campaign

We have successfully closed the fundraising campaign created by UNICEF Spain for victims of the Philippines typhoon, having raised €4,165 in donations from suppliers and customers of Spanish Kits Company, via their microsite specially developed for this action.

As we all know, last year on 8 November the devastating Yolanda typhoon swept the Philippines, destroying entire towns and leaving more than 1,000 dead. At Spanish Kits Company we decided to answer UNICEF Spain call to provide donations, medicines, basic foods, drinking water and personal hygiene items for children and their families.

Although we didn’t manage to reach our goal of €7,000, we are none the less very proud of having participated in this initiative and would like to thank everyone for their help in doing their bit, no matter how large or small, to help make thousands of Philippino children a little happier.
